UPI Payment: UPI will get recognition in UAE, discussed in the joint commission meeting between the two countries

In the coming times, it is possible that Indians going to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah can easily shop there through their UPI app. Discussions have started between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to approve each other’s instant payment apps. That is, UAE’s digital payment app should be accepted in India and India’s UPI should be approved there.
The foreign ministers of both the countries agreed
The agreement was reached at a meeting of the Joint Commission on Thursday chaired by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Talks will now start between the concerned departments and agencies from both sides in this regard. India’s RuPay card has already been accepted in UAE.
Cooperation in the energy sector was discussed in the meeting
Establishment of long-term cooperation in the energy sector was particularly discussed in the meeting of the Joint Commission. The UAE is still a major oil supplier to India. In view of the way in which there is talk of adopting clean fuel instead of crude oil in the coming decades, the Joint Commission meeting has discussed expanding cooperation in the energy sector.
Both countries can announce about renewable energy
Both countries will make new announcements in the coming days on how to proceed with green hydrogen and renewable energy. The two countries have also started exploring the possibilities of jointly investing and setting up projects in Africa. It has been agreed to start projects simultaneously, especially in the energy and health sectors in Africa. The effort is that Indian companies should have technical and efficiency and UAE companies should invest. Recently, representatives of government and private sector from both the countries also visited Tanzania and Kenya for this purpose.
