Lucknow News: When Nagar Ayukt himself arrived to persuade corporators, everyone was angry due to the stalled development work

Municipal commissioner Inderjit Singh himself reached among the angry corporators due to lack of development. The councilors had threatened to gherao the city commissioner. The corporators had started gathering in their rooms at the municipal headquarters since morning, but the municipal commissioner did not come till then. On getting information about this, the Municipal Commissioner, who reached the headquarters of the Municipal Corporation, did not go to his room and himself reached the corporators’ room and listened to their words.
This is the matter: Even after the release of the four installments of the Ward Development Fund, angry corporators had gheraoed the Chief Engineer of the Municipal Corporation Mahesh Verma in his room on Monday. The corporators had alleged that the tender files were being moved here and there and the people of the ward were pressurizing them for development and gheraoing their houses.
The corporators said that on June 13 itself, the Municipal Corporation House had decided to release the four installments of the Ward Development Fund simultaneously. Even after this, no action was taken by the Municipal Corporation, while submersible pumps are lying in the ward from the road. The Chief Engineer kept clarifying that the files were being cleared but the councilors were not ready to listen to anything and have warned to lodge a protest even further. Even several days ago, the councilors surrounded the mayor for not releasing the minutes of the budget approved in the house.
Orders were issued on July 25: The Municipal Corporation had issued orders on July 25 to get the work done from the Ward Development Fund. In the order issued by Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhay Pandey, it was said that development can take place in the ward only after following several conditions. If a road or a drain is built in a period of five years, there will be no development. Only necessary development works will be done in each ward from Rs.1.25 crore.
