Another journalist killed in Mexico, know how many lives have been lost so far

Mexico City, Agency. Another journalist has been killed in Mexico, the prosecutor’s office in the southern state of Guerrero has confirmed. Freddy Roman was shot dead in the city of Chilpancingo, news agency DPA quoted the office as saying in a statement on Monday.
Roman’s program ‘The Reality of Guerrero’ focused on state politics. Clashes between drug traffickers and security personnel are common in Guerrero.

Prosecutors have yet to provide details regarding Roman’s murder. At the same time, local media says that he was shot inside his vehicle.
Local media reported that the assailants fired at them with a motorcycle.
Roman worked as a journalist for more than 35 years, most recently writing columns about education and politics. Fredid Roman was previously the director of a newspaper he called ‘La Realidad’, which is no longer published.
This year has already been seen as one of the deadliest for media representatives in Mexico.
Journalist Juan Arjan was murdered in the north-west of the country less than a week ago.
Media organization Article 19 has counted at least 14 deaths in 2022, a record number in a year.
Mexico was ranked by Reporters Without Borders as the world’s most dangerous country for journalists in 2021 for the third year in a row. Seven deaths were counted that year. Well often drug cartels or corrupt local politicians are behind the murders.
Let us inform that so far this year, 15 media personnel have been murdered in the country including Roman.
